Lucy Kelly Architect provides hand sketches, models and computer generated images to convey the design direction and elicit the client’s response and participation. 

Pre-design and programming: During pre-design, the site, topographic features and environmental factors are studied, in conjunction with zoning analysis, for determining the most site-sensitive building massing and orientation. The client’s program is reviewed, in conjuction with the project budget and construction schedule.

Constraints often inspire originality: While addressing functional requirements and site constraints, a concept emerges through the study of space, light, and materiality. As the design is refined, technical issues - such as principles of sustainability - are studied in more detail. The utilization of energy saving building practices and “green” materials are integral to the architecture. Objectives are balanced with parameters.
